At the Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs, we have a passionate and dedicated team of trained volunteers.  H-PCAP would not exist if not for the amazing volunteers who work with our clients.  We truly appreciate all of the work that the volunteers do and the special touches that each and every one brings to the program!

Our Volunteers:
  • Receive training in supportive communication techniques for people with aphasia
  • Participate in group discussions and activities at H-PCAP
  • Raise awareness about aphasia
  • Support communication for people with aphasia and other acquired communication disorders
If you are interested in volunteering at one of our program locations, please download the application form below and contact Vanessa Rotundo, Volunteer Coordinator at VRotundo@monarchhouse.ca

* Please note that our volunteer positions are highly competitive, and we receive many requests for clinical reference letters. If you require a clinical reference from an SLP for graduate studies, please contact the volunteer coordinator for details on the process.
"Volunteering with the Halton-Peel Aphasia Program has been a fantastic experience that is both highly rewarding and educational. The program allowed me to appreciate how each individual with aphasia is unique while helping them improve their communication. What makes this program special is that the groups represent community; there is always a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen and kind-hearted people who support each other. The highlight of my volunteer experience was witnessing how much an individual with aphasia can improve in their communication throughout the program." - Volunteer in Brampton, 2015
