Sponsor the H-PCAP Walkathon: Help People With Aphasia Be Heard

4/20/2026

Every day, people living with aphasia are working hard to do something many of us take for granted: communicate. Aphasia can affect speaking, understanding, reading, and writing — often after a stroke or brain injury — and it can change how someone participates at home, at work, and in the community.
At H-PCAP, we see the impact up close. We also see what’s possible when people have the right support: confidence returns, friendships form, and members find new ways to express themselves.

That’s why we’re inviting local businesses, organizations, and community champions to sponsor our upcoming H-PCAP Walkathon on Friday, June 19, 2026.

June is Aphasia Awareness Month - Let's Show Up Together.

June is Aphasia Awareness Month, a time to learn, share, and stand alongside people living with aphasia.
Holding our Walkathon in June is intentional. It’s a chance to:
  • Bring aphasia into the public conversation
  • Celebrate the strength and progress of our members
  • Build a more communication-friendly community

Why this walkathon matters

The Walkathon is more than a fundraiser. It’s a public show of support for people who are too often overlooked — not because they have nothing to say, but because aphasia makes it harder to say it.
When you sponsor the Walkathon, you help us:
  • Reduce isolation by bringing people together in a welcoming, communication-friendly space
  • Strengthen confidence through programs that help members practice communication in real-life settings
  • Support families and care partners who are also navigating major life changes
  • Build awareness so more people understand what aphasia is — and how to communicate respectfully and effectively

The impact of aphasia on our members

Aphasia can be invisible at first glance. Many people look the same as they did before their stroke or brain injury, but their ability to communicate may be dramatically different.
For our members, aphasia can mean:
  • Feeling left out of conversations — even with friends and family
  • Struggling to make phone calls, book appointments, or advocate for themselves
  • Losing confidence in social settings and withdrawing from activities they used to love
  • Facing barriers to work and volunteering, which can affect identity and independence
The emotional toll can be heavy. When communication becomes difficult, people can experience frustration, anxiety, and loneliness. H-PCAP exists to change that story.

What your sponsorship makes possible

Sponsorship dollars go directly toward the programs and supports that help our members reconnect — with language, with confidence, and with community.
Your support helps us:
  • Offer group programming that supports communication practice and social connection
  • Provide resources and education for members and families
  • Create accessible, aphasia-friendly experiences where everyone can participate
  • Expand outreach so more people living with aphasia can find us

Why sponsor: the community benefit

Sponsoring the H-PCAP Walkathon is a meaningful way to show your organization’s commitment to inclusion and community well-being.
You’re not only helping fund programs — you’re helping build a community where:
  • People living with aphasia are treated with dignity and patience
  • Communication differences are understood, not judged
  • Recovery includes social connection, not just medical care

Sponsorship opportunities

We offer sponsorship options for a range of budgets, with recognition opportunities that may include:
  • Logo placement on event materials
  • Social media and website recognition
  • On-site visibility at the Walkathon
If you’d like to discuss a sponsorship level that fits your organization, we’d love to connect.
